Terri Ann Bruton

Terri Ann Bruton was born October 11, 1962 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Helen Elaine Purnsley and Edward Brother Bruton. She was called home on Wednesday February 12, 2025 at Christiana Hospital. She spent most of her childhood years in Dunleith Estates then moving to Wilmington.

Terri has one son, Ayron Craig Bruton by Mr. Craig DeShields. She attended Colwyck Elementary School then Stubbs Elementary, Bancroft Middle and Howard High School. Her higher education was at Virginia State University. She served on the Howard Alumni Board as secretary.

Terri worked at Delaware Trust for 3 years and Wilmington Trust for 21 years before she retired from banking. Terri loved to dance, read her books and crochet at times. Her shows were All My Children, The Neighborhood, Abbott Elementary and her favorites were The Tyler Perry Shows.

Terri joined Adah Chapter#1 - Order Eastern Star in March 2001. She served as Worthy Matron 2010-2012. She also conducted the Sunshine Club for her Chapter. Her trademark was sending out birthday cards to her family and friends every year. For Terri her cereal had to be soggy! "LOL"

Terri was a believer of Christ and received her early nurturing from Mother AUFCMP. She was currently an active member of Church of Exodus under the pastorship of Rev. Ricky Waterman where she served on the Greeter's Committee and Women of Exodus, (WOE) Ministry, which she enjoyed. Terri loved to travel and having fun with her Girls and being with Ayron. Odd Fellows was her place to let her hair down. "Big Fun".

Terri is preceded in death by her parents Helen Elaine Purnsely., Edward Brother Bruton and Arnold Purnsley. Grandparents Joe Bruton and Catherine Bruton, aunts,; Suzanne Brown, and Juanita Jones. uncles: William Brown, Sr., Robert L. Jones, Jr. and Raymond Bruton, Sr. and cousin, Bill Brown, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son Ayron Bruton, brothers Arnold Purnsley, Jr., Gregory Purnsley and Lewis. Her cousins Robert L. Jones (Gayle), William Scott Jones (Stephanie), Steve Brown, Leslie Jeffrey (George), Lisa Jones, Michael Brown, Tracess Scott (Rodney), Raymond Bruton, Jr., Dawn Bruton and Tyrone Bruton.

Thanks to Chelsey Bremby- a great and devoted friend. Thanks to my sister Deniese. Her devoted and supported friends Jackie, Ann, Robin Hutt-Banks and family, Tee, Robin Davis, Nettie, Kelly and family, Cynthia, Teresa, Ardeena, and the late Latita D. Young. (SIP) and two God daughters.

Memorial service will be held on Friday March 14, 2025 at 10 am. OES Ceremony will begin promptly at 9:30 am at Cathedral of Fresh Fire 2300 Northeast Blvd Wilmington, DE 19802
