Standley Lee Taylor of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home Monday June 18, 2018. Standley Lee Taylor was born on August 17, 1952 in Cape Charles, VA to the late Wesley Morris and Hattie Taylor-Morris. Standley was affectionately known as "Stan the Man".
Standley graduated from Howard High School in 1970 where he wrestled and was on the football team. Standley was a Domestic Engineer for 30 years after retiring he worked at Pine Liquors as a clerk. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #106 of Wilmington, DE for many years. Stan the Man really enjoyed going to the Odunde festival in Philadelphia every year. He also enjoyed reading and being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Hattie Taylor Morris and brother in law Lee Archie Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter Tamara Wing-Williams (Banks). Siblings Rowena Williams and Rosely "Woody" Taylor. Sister in laws Trudy Taylor and Stephanie "Step-up" Taylor. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 28th 2018 at the Fraternal Order of Eagles. 415 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, Delaware, 19801. From 12 - 1:00pm. A Repast will follow from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
