Roxanne K. Crawley, daughter of the late James Crawley and the late Charlotte Brooker (Nathaniel Brooker), was born November 20,1958 at Wilmington General Hospital in Wilmington, DE. She departed this life on Friday November 27, 2020 peacefully at home.
Roxanne received her education in the public school system of Wilmington. While attending school Roxanne received many awards for dancing, acting and swimming.
After completing high school, she received a certification in nursing. Roxanne held this position for 20 years before receiving a promotion as Activities Director. She continued in this capacity until retirement.
Roxanne was a life long member of gospel time C.O.G.I.C. Roxanne loved spending her time with her family and friends, especially cooking, dancing, telling jokes, staying fly and trying her luck at the casino,
"Which some of y’all here were right there with her”.
Roxanne absolutely adored her family and friends.
Roxanne was preceded in death by her sisters Charlene Crawley, Antionette Crawley Smith and Patricia Holmes.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children Vardon Crawley, Darious Crawley, Stephanie Crawley, two step children Christopher Parson JR and Derrick Robinson. One Godson Derrone Frazier. One Daughter in love Kena Tennille Trader.
Siblings Derrick, Kevin, James, Brian and Verron Crawley, Natalie Brooker, Curtis (coco) Dennis, Shyra Dennis, Corey Patterson and James Johnson. Three devoted cousins Tia Saunders, Sonja Douglas Butler, and Glenda Lewis Griffin. Two sister-in-love Eleanor Robeson and Donna Rainey. Grandchildren Kennady, Darious, Jade and Ace Crawley. Nyaire Lolley Jah’lere Collins, Jakyhe Valn, Savon Boddy and Aniyah Murray.
Roxanne was very instrumental in raising her niece and nephews Antione, Tiffany and Jerell Crawley. Two Devoted uncles; Lawrence Parker (Irma) and Joe Lewis and a companion of 29 years Christopher Parson Sr.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday December 8, 2020 at 1:00 pm, Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th St. Wilm.,DE 19801. Due to State mandates all attendees must wear masks and are restricted to number allowed at service.
