Peggy Hoyle, 76, of Wilmington, Delaware transitioned on April 10, 2023 surrounded by family.
Peggy was born on April 4 th , 1946 to the late parents Helen Gibbs and James Lucas of Engelhard, NC. Peggy is now reunited with her loving husband of 43 years, William B. Hoyle Sr. who proceeded her in death. Together they raised three loving children.
At the early age of 18, Peggy began her employment career as a caretaker for the Rollins Family. There after she received her formal education while working at Springer Middle School.
At James Grove Adult Education School, she was a devoted educator with a special interest in helping students graduate. Her infamous stubborn streak was an inspiration to her students, refusing to give up on them no matter the struggle and continuing those relationships far beyond the school year.
Peggy will be remembered for her positive energy and the ability to light up any room that she entered. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family, experiencing with new cuisines, and loved hearing that sound of pennies dropping! She looked forward to conversing with people on her porch and laugh the summer nights away. To know Peggy is to love Peggy and her sweet bubbly personality.
In addition to her late parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four siblings: Alice Gibbs, James Gibbs, Landy Gibbs and Angie Gibbs. She is survived by three sisters: Maggie Gibbs, Deborah Gibbs and Cindy Gibbs. She will be lovingly remembered by, one daughter and two sons. Tawhana Taylor of Atlanta, GA. Grandchildren: Tiffany, Tahiya, Domiqua, Timothy, Travis. Great Grandchildren: Dollia, Leo. Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Neighbors and Good Friends.
Celebration of her life will be held on Monday April 24, 2023 at Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th Street Wilm., DE 19801. Service will be at 12 noon and viewing 10-11:45am. Interment, Delaware Veterans Cemetery.
