Michael Anthony Medley

May 13, 1967 — July 12, 2018

Michael Anthony Medley was born on May 13, 1967. He departed this life suddenly, July 12, 2018. Michael was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He attended Wilmington public schools and graduated from Christiana High School in 1986. He served in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Drum in Watertown, NY and South Korea. Michael pursued his passion for real estate joining the Concord Realty Group as an agent. He was also a member of the New Castle Board of Realtors and worked for General Electric at the time of his passing.

Michael loved the Pittsburg Steelers. Football Sunday you could find him glued to the television or in the stands no matter where they were playing. Michael was also an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.

Michael's greatest passion was his family. He was a dedicated husband and father. He loved to travel with his wife Lucy, and daughter Veronicah. He picked his daughter up from school every single day from her first day of Kindergarten.

Michael was a strong, proud, passionate man. He loved a good debate. He would agree to disagree, but he had to be right. He was known in school as a go-getter. His hustle mentality transcended from sports to business, but he always made time for a little fun. He will be greatly missed by so many.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of thirteen years, Lucy Mwangi-Medley; his children: Ishmael Rodriguez, Michael Anderson, and Veronicah Medley; his grandchildren, Ishmael Brodie-Rodriguez, Shamiya Rodriguez and Mckensie Anderson; his mother Susan Oliver, father Alvin L. Wiggins and step-father, Theodore R. Oliver, Jr.; his brothers, Manuel Medley and Corey Medley; nieces, nephews; Keith and Sa'eed aka Chris, the ABC Posse; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, co-workers, neighbors, friends, and of course STEELERS NATION .

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday July 30, 2018 at 11 am, viewing 9-10:45 am at Mother UAME Church,701 E. 5th St. Wilm.DE 19801.
