Mary E. Lacey, affectionately known as Mimi, transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday October 11, 2019 at 1:30 am at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.
Mimi was born to the late Earl and Sarah Lacey on March 15, 1941. She was the youngest of eight children who shared love and a wonderful family bond.
Mimi graduated from West Catholic Girls High School and later was employed at the City of Philadelphia, Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, Presbyterian Board of Pensions and finally Blue Cross Blue Shield.
When you spoke of fashion, Mimi was always sharp! As a matter of fact she helped TJ Maxx put the F in Fashionista…….
Mimi was the proud mother of her beautiful daughter, Kimberbi. They shared a wonderful bond that was so caring and loving. They traveled extensively together, state side and aboard with their final trip to London, England. Mimi loved her grandson Kyle. Always the doting grandma telling stories about him that kept you smiling as he grew from youngster to the young man today.
Mimi loved to sew. She made Kim many outfits including the gown she wore for her high school prom. She was an avid reader and loved anything and everything Hollywood.
Mimi was someone you could always depend on and she will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kimberli, her grandson, Kyle, her great granddaughter, Demi. Her sister, Bettie Ann Turner, sister-in-law, Ramona( Rae) Lacey, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Mimi was predeceased by five brothers; Earl, Jr. Charles, William, Gerald and James and one sister, Francena
A memorial service will take place on Saturday November 9, 2019, 10 am from Saint Cyprian Roman Catholic Church, 525 Cobbs Creek Parkway, on the southwest corner of 63rd and Cedar Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19143
Interment is private.
