Marian Satterfield Garrett

Marian Satterfield Garrett, age 87 departed this life April 9, 2019.

Marian received her early education in the public schools of Wilmington, Delaware and attended Howard High School. Marian was a domestic worker for various Wilmington Families.

In 1954 Marian married the love of her life Josiah (Joe) Garrett, Jr. From that union two sons were born.

Marian loved to travel, enjoyed listening to music and her other joy was cooking for her family and friends and anyone who came to visit.

In reflecting back about this gently loving woman, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, she treated everyone like family.

Preceding her in death her parents, her brothers, Dennis and Ernest Satterfield, sisters, Florence R. Satterfield and Eamily Satterfield Moore, her mother and father-in-law, Josiah, Sr. and Hallie Garrett.

Marian leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Josiah, Jr. Sons, Art(Georgia) and Michael J. Garrett. Grandson, Sean Garrett, brother, Donald R. Satterfield, sisters; Barbara Satterfield(Kelley), Ruthanne Sattterfield (Brookens), Shirley M. Satterfield(McGriff), Jacqueline Richards and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 11 AM. Viewing, 9-11 at Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5 ^th Street, Wilm., DE 19801. Interment,  Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
