Lewis James Gosa, was better known as "Ronnie" by family and friends. He was born November 11, 1948 to the late Edward and Anna Gosa in Wilmington, DE. He was the youngest of three siblings, the late Roosevelt, Eddie and the late Alice Jean. Lewis attended Howard High, where he graduated in 1968. While in Howard High he was introduced to Portia Chapman, who also attended Howard High and they were married in 1970. During their marriage they had two children, Edward Gosa and Nicole Gosa.
Ronnie had the passion for sports, his athletic ability in football and baseball where he played in Howard High School. Ronnie has always been a 49er's fan, so don't call him if the 49ers game is on, trust me; you will not get an answer. Ronnie was employed at Gateway House for a short period of time. Then he started at Wilmington Senior Center and State of Delaware: Northeast Service Center from where he retired. Ronnie received many certificates of excellences and certificates of service during his time at work. Mr. Gosa, is what they called him at work. They stated that Mr. Gosa was a huge impact to the company.
Ronnie was his own comedian. If you knew him you would understand that Ronnie loved to bang on tables, counters, and his leg while singing his favorite song "OOPS UPSIDE YOUR HEAD" by the Gap Band. That song was a part of Ronnie, not only was his passion for this song, he made sure his clothes were crispy creased while singing his favorite song. When you did see Ronnie you would think Ronnie took his clothes to a special dry cleaner and got them pressed. Some of us never understood why Ronnie needed his clothes so perfectly creased, but we will always remember Ronnie in his unique way of life.
Ronnie loved to see family and friends enjoying themselves at family barbeques. His strength was his family. Ronnie loved being around his brothers and sister, even though Ronnie will start getting out of hand, (Anna) will always knock him right back down. Family and friends will always remember Ronnie as the cool uncle, and great friend who has a huge heart.
On February 25, 2019 Ronnie went home to be with the Lord. Ronnie leaves to cherish his memory; 2 children Edward(Tameka) Gosa and Nicole(Darryl) Gosa; 9 grandchildren, Khiry Gosa, Khyron Gosa, Aaron Wilson, Naheem Gosa, Mohangnee Gosa-Ellerbe, Fantiyah Gosa, William Lee, Shawnikqua Brown, Keisha Brown, 1 great grandson, Karter Gosa, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
