Leon A. Martin Jr. (L.J) was born August 13, 2000 in Wilmington, Delaware. He departed from us on January 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and warm-hearted memories. Leon was a caring, son, brother, and family-friend.
Leon received his education in the Wilmington Public School system. Leon obtains his diploma graduating from Freire High School, located in Wilmington, DE in 2018.
Leon was an avid sports fan but specifically loved football. Leon participated in an Adult League and played for the Panthers. His love for football extended, where he was a diehard fan of the Philadelphia, Eagles.
Leon had a unique way of spending time with family and extending his unconditional love. Everyone knew Leon to be very honest with a pure heart. These characteristics traits were most loved about him. Every now and then Leon was known as a jokester, being a light in a room full of family and friends. Occasionally, Leon loved to work out and with his muscles full of love, Leon was known for giving the best hugs and giving a sense of protection to those he loved. Leon convinced himself he was the “big brother” among his siblings even though he was the “baby” of the crew.
Leon’s love even rolled over to taking care of dogs, where he and his father, Leon, Sr. managed a dog training business. Leon was very insightful and knowledgeable allowing him to sharpen his skills as a businessman. Leon was a strategic thinker, risk taker, with strong work ethics. His visionary capability allowed him to develop long term goals for himself to be successful.
His interest in music varied from artists like Kendrick Lamar, Rod Wave, and Denzel Curry. These artists were on repeat and on rotation as if no other artists existed.
Leon loved reading, particularly novels and spiritual books. On his down time, he loved to express his artsy ways by cooking – he even called himself, Chef Boi Lee. Cooking for Leon was therapeutic to him. It allowed him to be creative and expressive in his own exclusive way.
Leon was a devoted son, brother, and friend. He was proud to spread love and help in any way he could. Leon’s qualities held so many unforgettable memories, which leaves a special place in the hearts of loved one.
