God spoke softly as he called Jimmie’s name, son your work here is done, you must come home now. Surrounded by family, Jimmie quietly ascended to his heavenly home on Tuesday December 11, 2018.
Born on June 21, 1938 in Macon, Georgia to the late Reverend Mother Bertha Mae Blunt Gordon and Willie A. Gordon, the third of seven children. The family moved to Detroit, Michigan where Jimmie attended Hamtramick High School with such famous people as Aretha Franklin & Smokey Robinson. Jimmie’s mentor was Mr. Warren, a Motown producer whom he admired greatly, as well as King Maxwell, a man of God. These men instilled sound life values which paved the way for the man that Jimmie came to be. In 1957 the Chrysler plant in Detroit closed, the elder Mr. Willie Gordon relocated his family to Wilmington, Delaware. It was here that Jimmie met and married on June 18, 1966 his soul mate, best friend, the love of his life, Estella Spencer Gordon, and from this union came three children.

Jimmie believed in hard work and dedication to provide for his family. He was employed with Chrysler Automotive for 44 years, retiring in 2005. Jimmie was honored by U.A.W.
