James Robert Hunter son of the late Rachael Hunter and the late Willis Boney was born August 16, 1960 in Wilmington, DE. Ginny as he was known to his family and friends departed this life at home peacefully on Wednesday December 9, 2020. He received his education in the Wilmington public school system.
Jim was the owner/operator of Boney & Son Construction, always hiring from within his community and giving back to the community that raised him. He was taught his trade by his father and followed in his father’s footsteps in the construction industry.
Even though he lived in Philadelphia Eagle territory, Jim was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. His dream was to eventually retire and move to North Carolina.
Jim was preceded in death by two brothers Willis Boney and Vernon Hunter and a sister Betty Hunter.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Alicen Brown and sons Thomas (Brandon) Gibbs and Stephen Jackson (Shannon). A great nephew in which he was instrumental in raising, Alim Hunter. Surviving siblings are brothers Clarence (Terry) Boney (Miriam) and Howard Harrison, sisters, Rose Hunter, Yvonne Alston and Iris Bobbitt. He is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
