Gilbert N. Brown Affectionately known as “RAP” was born to the late Marjorie and Lilburn Brown Sr. on May 8, 1951 in Salisbury Md. Gilbert departed this life on Friday February 23, 2018 surrounded by family in the Veteran’s hospital in Wilmington De.
Gilbert graduated from Howard High School in 1969. Upon graduation he entered the United States Marine Corps where he served his country while stationed at Camp Lejeune, in Wilmington North Carolina. After being discharged he stayed in Wilmington North Carolina for approximately ten years before relocating back to Delaware. His hobbies were fishing, crabbing, playing cards, shooting pool, and playing basketball. Gilbert was employed by CRS/THG Relocation Company until retirement due to his health.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents Lilburn V. Brown Sr. and Marjorie V. Brown, and his brother Lilburn V. Brown Jr. Gilbert leaves to cherish his memory to his siblings Walter (Kendra), Raymond (April), Maurice, and Harry Brown, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Friends.
Service will be held on Thursday March 8, 2018 at Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th St. Wilm., DE. Viewing, 10-11am. Service. 11 am.
