Carmita Mae Hall transitioned December 18, 2024 at the age of 95.

She was born Carmita Mae Jenkins on May 4, 1929, the second of eight children born to William E. Jenkins and Violet Armstrong Jenkins on Deal Island, Maryland.

Carmita was predeceased by her husband Ozie Lee Hall, Sr., both her parents, her brothers Dr. Thomas E. Jenkins(Jane-deceased) and William F. Jenkins(Charlie-deceased), her sister Dr. Barbara Jones, and great grandchildren Chiante L. Brown and Ciarre M. Hall.

Carmita is survived by her sisters Sylvia Mack Daniels, Jean C. Pinkston, and Marjorie L. Everett(Herbert) and her brother Michael E. Jenkins(Rosetta).

Also surviving are Carmita's children; Anthony Hall Jenkins(Evelyn), Cecil Le Roy "Sahli" Hall(Patricia), Ozie Lee Hall, Jr.(Demyra), Frederick Kurt Hall(Tina), and Jason Tongia Hall(Whitney-deceased)

Carmita is further survived by 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and family spread across the United States, including Deal Island, Baltimore, Washington DC, New Jersey and New York.

Carmita was affectionately known in the community as "Mrs. Hall". She was an early entrepreneur and co-owner of Jack's Place Delicatessen and Pool Room.

After her husband deceased, she was employed as an educator in the public schools and retired from the Brandywine School District after a long career.

Carmita was an active member VFW Post #6687, The Moss Robertson Ladies Auxiliary until the post closed.

Her father was Delaware's first Black State Commander of the VFW.

She was active in the De La Warr Senior Center at the Rose Hill Community Center and loved to play "Pinochle" (a Jenkins/Armstrong family tradition).

Carmita loved astronomy and set an example for her children by returning to college at a later age to complete her college degree.

Carmita resided in Dunleith Estates for over 65 years and was a close member of the Jenkins and Armstrong Families.

Memorial Service 10 am, Thursday January 23, 2025, Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 2645 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, Delaware 19701.
