John A. "J" Johnson

Johnny passed away peacefully on November 25, 2017 at the VA Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey Sr. and Lillie Johnson and siblings Ronald (Dianne) and David Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings Harvey “Stump” (Jackie), Romella, Althea, and Gina Johnson, his ex-wife Sheila Summuel, his godson Joseph Brown, his “other sons” Armond and Armeer Williams, his aunts and uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Johnny graduated from De La Warr High School in 1973 and served in the U.S. Army. His made his career with the DuPont Co. Johnny enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, and sports especially the NFL Oakland Raiders.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 4, 2017 at Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church, 465 ½ Anderson Drive, Wilmington, DE. Committal Service following at the DE Veteran’s Cemetery Bear, DE. All Dunleith families and De La Warr classmates as well as other family and friends are welcome to attend the services and repass.
