John H Kornegay "Boolee"

John H. Kornegay, Sr. “Boolee” died peacefully at home on Nov 2, 2017 in New Castle, DE at the age of 79.

John is survived by his devoted mother Betty Reese, his 11 loving children and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Ray Kornegay, of Greenville, NC.

John was born on 8/21/1938 in Warsaw, NC to Betty Reese. He served in the United States Armed Forces. He was married 3 times. After moving to Delaware he began a career as a licensed truck driver. He was a boxer and fully enjoyed the sport. He also was an avid bowler and was a member of many leagues over the years.

Service is scheduled for 11 am Friday, November 10, 2017 at Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church, 465 1/2 Anderson Drive, Dunlieth, Wilm.,DE. Viewing 9-11 am. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park. Bishop Ray Taylor will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Boolee’s life. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church.
