Miss Helen Duffy, enlisted in the Marines were she became a Lieutenant General for 15 years and was awarded the Purple Heart, and other medal's. She enlisted in the Army four years, and became Head Captain, as a Nurse, were she received the Occupation Medal in (Germany)and the National Defense Service Medal. In her later year's her health started failing. She was adopted by Erma V. Peterson, and became a member of the Peterson family. Later she was cared for by Erma C. Peterson because the health failing of Erma V. Peterson. Helen adored and loved both caregiver's. She loved sitting on the porch, going shopping, and out to dinner, as she called lunch brunch. Her best thing's was getting ready for the holidays, and loved spending the weekend's watching T.V. home with Cissy and Carmen. She enjoyed watching the spookies, eating and having fun every weekend. And Yes!!! Miss Helen too was a big helping hand to our grandmother, Erma D. Macintoh, before Granny's passing giving a helping hand faithfully. Always was honor to do her nursing duties, and giving good advice. She was a sweet loving, funny and one of a kind of a person, a very compassionate individual. God created one Helen, there's no carbon copy like her. We never sugar coated her because, she didn't like crazy stuff. She was serious about life, and Her surroundings. Her being a U.S. General, Lieutenant and Captain, she carried herself very well. Ms. Helen really was a tuff little cookie. Small in statue in every way. She would let you know who was the boss, and would let anyone know how she felt. That was the uniqueness about Miss Helen. A little petite woman, who had a big heart. She never backed down from no one. She was a down to earth kind of a person. Loved talking to people and enjoying every conversation, with a big smile always on her face. Everyone loved Miss Helen, and respected her to the most high. She loved to sip on a can of beer once in a while. She loved and enjoyed all the little children, watching some of them grow into adults. Thank you Carmen and Andre Joyner for being great caregiver's to both Miss Helen, and Erma Peterson, his mother in- law. We are missing you Miss Helen. You couldn't get a better, friend and sweet loving person like Miss Helen. Miss Helen today you got your wings, God put you right here in our family, to be cared for, knowing he put you in good hands, with good people.
