Herman E. (Hershey) Larkin age 85
(January 28, 1932 – May23, 2017)


Herman Elbert (Hershey) Larkin departed this life peacefully on May 23, 2017 at the Wilmington Hospital surrounded by loving family and friends.

Herman was born January 26, 1932 to the late Eli Larkin and the late Lucille Lafate. He received his education in the Wilmington Public Schools. “Hershey” married his high school sweetheart Teresa Brown Larkin in 1955 and from this union three sons were born. Thaddeus Larkin, Thelonius Larkin and Tyrone Larkin.

“Hershey” was employed for many years with Phoenix Steel as a crane operator prior to his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at the Herlihy Apartments playing pinochle and telling stories. Always laughing, joking and just shooting the breeze.
Herman was preceded in death by his brothers Nathaniel and Albert.

A memorial service will take place at Simpson United Methodist Church
