Irene Shumake Henry, age 92

Irene Shumake Henry was born on September 23,1922 and departed this life on June 20,2015 surrounded by her family. She retired from working with private families a position she dearly loved.

Irene Henry was the daughter of the late Will and Mary Shumake of Eastman, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband William N. Henry, twelve siblings and one grandson Jeffrey Shumake.

Mother Henry is survived by her five children William C. Shumake(Marion), Sylvia Y. Cain, Lillian H. Royster, Spencer N. Henry(Joanne) and J. Colbert Henry(Iva). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held on June 27, 2015 from 8:00AM to 9:30AM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2200 N. Claymont Street, Wilm.,DE. A celebration service of Mother Henry's life will be held at 9:30AM immediately following visitation.
Internment will take place at the Gracelawn Memorial Park.
