Morton Grimes

Morton Grimes, age 67, after a short illness, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Heartland Hospice House in Pike Creek, Delaware surrounded by his family.

Morton was predeceased by his parents, the late Napoleon Grimes, Sr. and Susie A. (Watson) Grimes and his two brothers, Raymond and Napoleon Grimes, Jr. He is survived by his two daughters, Tashina Grimes and Mortina Johnson, three sisters, L. Jane Grimes, Ada Grimes-Black (Keith) with whom he lived and Susie Grimes, one sister-in-law, Jacqueline Grimes, four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.

Morton was born in Wilmington, Delaware and received his early education at Oliver Hill School in Maryland and later the Wilmington Public School System. He was formerly employed at General Motors Corporation.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Gracelawn Memorial Chapel at 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720 . Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
