was the third of eleven children born to the late Ida and Cephas James on January 12, 1914. She departed this life on December 21, 2012 in the Kentmere Nursing Center.
She graduated from Howard High School in 1932. Upon graduation from high school she began her career with the DuPont Company, where she remained for over 40 years, retiring in 1979.
Lillian was a member of St. Andrews-St. Mathews Church, Star of Bethlehem Chapter #8 OES-PHA, a Past Commandress of Suakim Court # 54, Dgts. of Isis. Lillian was an avid bowler and had the trophies to prove it. She also loved a good game of pinochle.
Lillian was preceded in death by her soul mate Thomas Ramsey; her parents, Ida and Cephas James; sisters, Alice, Elsie and Pearl; brothers, Francis, Harrison, Herschel, John and Paul. Her memories will be cherished by two sisters, Audrey J. Butler and Helen Johnson both of Wilmington, a devoted friend, Arlene Joyner, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends, too numerous to mention. Services will be held on Thursday December 27, 2012 at Mother UAME Church, 701 E. 5th St, Wilm., DE. Viewing 10-11 AM only. Service, 11AM. Interement , Gracelawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
