Obituary
Allen Preston Stansbury, born January 15, 1950 to Blanche E. Craig Stansbury and the Late James P. Stansbury, went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2011 after a long illness. He leaves cherished loving memories to his mother, Blanche Stansbury of Wilmington DE.; long time companion Diane Morris of Marcus Hook, PA.; Brother: Ronald Stansbury (Peggy), of Boothwyn PA . Sisters: Linda Stansbury, Lynette S. Scott (Arthur) Bernadine Stansbury, and Jeannette Stansbury, all of Delaware. Nieces and nephews: Damon and Kelli Stansbury of Florida; Alyson Barnhill; Kevin D Frazier. Jr. ; Keith Stansbury; and Myles Stansbury, all of Delaware. Uncles: Gilbert Craig (Myrtle) of Sharon Hill, PA., and William Jones of Chester, PA. Aunt: Mary McCray of Chester, PA. ; Godchildren; Dennis Johnson II and Kendra Johnson Cummings; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his best friend, Christopher Comegys.
Allen was baptized as a young boy at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Penncrest High School located in Media, PA. Before attending Penncrest, he went to Media High School where he played on the football team. Allen served in the United States Air force as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was employed at BP Oil Company in Marcus Hook, PA., nka ConocoPhillips for over 25 years. He loved walking down the park and listening to “Oldies but Goodies”. He enjoyed playing pool, darts, and shuffle board. He was a member of the Lower Delco Mixed Shuffle Board League and the United Steel Workers Union FKA OCAW.
